User Reviews about ASICS Men's GT-2150 Running Shoe

This is a good shoe, but not a great shoe.

The tongue is over-sized and if you have a high in-step (like I do) you will get blisters with this shoe. I find I have to lace them quite loosely. The half-size above me though was far too big and my feet would slip while running.

The base of the shoe is solid, firm but comfortable. I have problems with the balls of my feet, I crash down on them quite hard when I run which caused bruising with other shoes. These shoes do well to prevent that kind of high-impact damage.

I'd really recommend anyone trying them first at a brick-and-mortar before buying. If you have wide feet (like I do) but your in-step is not too high I think these shoes are perfect. For my next pair of shoes I will look for a pair that caters to both wide and high in-step feet.

-- Good, not Great
I saw someone at work wearing a pair of Asics and really liked the style. I went to amazon and asics website and started doing some research. Mostly, I wear Nike or New Balance outside of dress shoes and "doc's".

I wear a size 13, and a pretty wide foot. It's hard to go to a store and find anything in a 13 much less in wide it seems. Especially in a shoe you actually like. This is what drove me to Amazon.

I ordered the shoes on Sunday and they were on my doorstep on Thursday. I am always pleased with Amazon's quick shipping.

As for the product? I couldn't be happier with these shoes. As soon as I took them out of the box, I threw 'em on and ran a mile (they were already even laced up for me). It's like walking (and running) on clouds. They are very supportive, comfortable, stylish and I plan on buying these in other colors (bought the black this time around).

My only con: I don't care for the reflector on the top/front but that's just me nit-picking on an otherwise perfect shoe. -- Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.
I've been running in this family of ASICS shoes since they were known as the GT-2100. Seeing as I put about 500 miles on a shoe before it transitions to yardwork, the shoe has to provide a decent level of cushion and support right up to the end. The GT-2150 definitely delivers. The shoe is relatively lightweight and provides a good fit for me because I need extra-wide sizes (4E). The mesh upper is both a blessing and a curse, making the shoe breathable and cool during a marathon, but on dusty training trails the shoe ends up full of grit and in wet weather it provides zero protection against soaked socks. The stout midsole offers excellent arch support through the life of the shoe while the front part of the sole has just the right amount of cushion for my forward-leaning style of running. The GT-2150 is a strong performing shoe that I would recommend to anyone who is serious about long run training. -- The right shoe for the long haul.
I've been running in the asics GT 2100 series since the GT 2100s came out. I loved them because it's really hard to find a good running shoe when you have a really wide foot. The shoe doesn't feel that much different than the last generation. It feels a bit more stiff. The main issue was that there is a sharp edge by the medial arch of the shoe. To top that off, the insert doesn't fit properly in the shoe. It overlaps and gave me some of the worst blisters I've ever had after only running a mile. I'm hoping it's an isolated issue but if you're buying a wide size, it might be to your advantage to find a brick-and-mortar to check for these issues. -- Not my favorite running shoe anymore.
This is a very good, stiff shoe for flat-footed "over-pronators" like me. Comfortable, with lots of support, rather than bouncy and flexible. Not a traditional squishy running shoe at all. I like to alternate between this and a slightly more cushioned shoe (like the 1150) since they definitely stress the foot muscles slightly differently. -- Very stiff
