I had to apply it twice over a period of a month in order for it to really take effect. I used this on my new pair of 8 eye-hole Dr. Marten boots Crazy Horse style leather. It really did the trick on these boots, it made them look fantastic and really hold up well in wet weather. Just make sure to really lather up any seems in your shoes/boots, if you dont it makes treating the rest of your shoes/boots pointless. Overall this stuff is incredibly good and I can't even begin to fathom when this little jar will run out of this wonderous stuff. A few applications will last a good long time. -- Wonder Balsam is a fitting title

I bought this for a couple of pairs of DMs that I own, including a "Made in England" pair that I am very proud of and have worn almost daily for over two years. They were starting to get a little tired looking, but this stuff has given them a whole new lease of life. I had originally been using dubbin and more recently mink oil on them, which was OK, but I found it went on quite thick and was leaving lots of gunk in the lacing around the sole. This stuff goes on much smoother and thinner, especially with the little applicator sponge that you get and makes my shoes look much smarter. It is obviously much more expensive that regular shoe polish or mink oil, but it is far superior and you don't really need to use much to do a shoe, so it will last ages (I did two pairs of shoes with just the residue on the lid). I would highly recommend it. -- Awesome!

I purchased this for use on my Doc Marten boots. While it doesn't completely get all of the scuffs out it does make them look much better and effectively waterproofs the leather as well. The thing I really love about this product is the smell. I've used leather waxes before that left my hands smelling like chemicals for days this product has a nice scent and washes right off of hands with a little soap and water. -- Works well and smells good.

This is a great product. I got it for my boyfriend his boots are always getting scuffs and fading in color, they look worn out and old, but after using this balsam on this Dr Martens boots they look brand new again! I highly recommend this prouduct. Enjoy!!! -- Renew your shoes!

I originally ordered Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to keep my shoes looking good. I own a pair of Dr. Martens 8053CH 5-Eyelet Gibsons in Gaucho Crazy Horse. They're an oily leather, the type of leather Wonder Balsam is made for. Whenever my shoes get scuffed or start to dry out, a little Wonder Balsam works wonders.

Recently I purchased a leather jacket made from Italian oiled leather. It was pre-distressed, and although it looked great already, some areas were more distressed than I would have liked. Today I broke out the Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam, applied it all over the jacket using the included sponge (use sparingly -- a little goes a long way) and the jacket looks even better now than it did on day one.

To anyone wearing shoes, jackets, bags and/or using other items made with oiled leathers, Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam gets my highest recommendation. -- Not just for shoes!
